The Dirty Bird's are in flight from the USA and are expected to land at The Gentleman's Groom Room Scotland sometime next week. After months in the making the Dirty Bird pottery shaving scuttles and brush scuttles are now due to arrive at our Dundee store. Each Dirty Bird Pottery shaving scuttle and brush scuttle has been handmade by Julie Moore on a potter's wheel at her small studio in rural King George, VA USA. Both the shaving scuttles and brush scuttles will be available in three colours Blue Rim on Spice, Randy's Rim on Black and Spice Gold on Red. The shaving scuttles are the large 1.5 (Outside 6" wide x 3.75" high bowl opening 4.5" wide x 2" deep ) with web like design inside.
To use the shaving scuttle for a wet shave, hot water is poured into the spout of the shaving scuttle, which will allow you to build and keep your lather warm, perfect when doing multiple passes. The web like design on the inside base and walls of the Dirty Bird shaving scuttles provide good purchase on your shaving brush, allowing you to whip up a perfect thick creamy lather in no time. To use the two piece Brush Scuttle, fill the top cup to the appropriate level with hot water, the dimensions 3" tapering to 1" and 3.25" deep are perfect and will allow you to soak your shaving brush without any water getting to the handle of your brush. These brush scuttles are designed for face-latherers so once your brush has soaked simply discard the water from the top cup and fill the brush scuttle (bottom part) with hot water and replace the empty top cup, you can then rest your loaded brush into the brush scuttle between passes ensuring a warm lather every time you lather your face.
